His father moved from Hadley between 1731 and 1740 to Granby where he was born in 1740 ®656 ®687. He never married but is listed as head of the family (a few members were unmarried) from Granby in 1750-1763. ®1632 He was in the Revolutionary War on the Granby list. ®8In 1777 he was chosen to serve as a selectman for Granby. ®1384 In 1790 he was the head of a household of 2 men over 16 and 1 female in Granby. ®2046 In 1800 his family of 1 girl under 10, 1 boy 10-15, one woman 16-25, 1 man 26-44 and one man over 45 lived in Granby, near Enos Moody. ®2041 He cannot be identified on the 1810 census. From 25 Sep 1814 to 7 Nov. 1814 he was a private in Captain Reynold’s Company, Lieutenant Colonel W. Ryerson’s Regiment serving at Portland in the War of 1812. In 1820 his family of 2 boys 10-16, 1 man 16-26, one man over 45, and one woman 16-26 lived in Granby, Massachusetts, near the families of Elisha Moody, Silas Moody, Zebina Moody, and Benoni K. Moody. ®2040 He died unmarried in 1831 at age 91 ®656 or age 92. ®687 ®408 “The fifth son, who also lived a life of single blessedness, and attained a good old age in like manner as his eldest brother was frequently chosen to act in town matters, being appointed one of the Selectman, etc. His home was in the north part of Granby where he owned considerable property. (& is said to have been at one time, the richest man in the town)” ®408
