Alice Chapin Moody claims that this Deacon John was born 3/7/1701, d. 1769 and m. Sarah Dickinson on 6/24/1733, dau. of Nehemiah. Sarah b. 4/13/1708, she had 4 boys and 4 girls. John became a Deacon in Granby, Mass. before 1767. This fits John the son of Samuel Moody and Sarah Lane, who died in Hadley, while this John was born and died in Hartford.
An Ancestry family tree says he was born 1701 in Hartford, married Rebecca Holden b ca 1721, had a daughter Rebecca b. ca 1758 in Little Egg Harbor, NJ who married Thomas Willits on 22 Sep 1778 in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey and John died after 1781 in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey
