On 1 January 1920 Carl, 26 and single lived with his brother Walfred, single and 19, his sister Ellen, 31 and married, with his widowed father August on August’s farm on Swede Pine Road in White River Township of Ashland, Wisconsin. ®4048Carl lived and worked on his sister Ida, and brother in law Charles Anderson’s Lake View Farm in Ashland until it was sold in 1941.
