“She was educated in Bayfield and enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC’s) during World War II. Following her discharge in 1945, she was married to Arthur Grant at Bayfield, and she had lived in Bayfield since that time. Mrs. Grant was employed at Bayfield County Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Bayfield. Surviving are her husband, Arthur, Bayfield; one son, Joseph Grant, Red Cliff; her parents, Alex and Alice VanderVenter, Red Cliff, two brothers, Robert, Bayfield, and William, Madison; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle. Because of renovation at Holy Family Catholic Church, the funeral mass was Saturday at the Bayfield Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Koszarek officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Bayfield. Visitation was Friday at the Overholzer Memorial Chapel, Bayfield.” ®8352
