On 6 Sep 1918 he lived with his parents at 314 Third Street South, Virginia, Minnesota. He was a lumber inspector, was tall and slender with blue eyes and brown hair. 340 In 1922 was a lumber grader, and in 1924 a clerk with the Virginia and Rainy Lake Company and lived with his parents at 314 3rd Avenue South, Virginia, Minnesota. He married in 1928 and lived with wife Judith in the apartment upstairs of his parent’s duplex at 314 3rd Street South, Virginia, Minnesota. In 1930 he was a shipping clerk in a lumber yard who lived with his wife and mother-in-law at 204 1/2 First Street South, Virginia, Minnesota, which he rented for $34 per month. He drowned at 8:45 P.M. in Lake Vermillion near the Isle of Pines. He fell off the roof of an excursion boat chartered by 12 men. They had no children.

She was on a trip to the West Coast at the time of John’s drowning in 1939. In 1941-2 she was a widow working as a bookkeeper for Heisel Brothers Plumbing in Virginia and boarded at 1209 5th Avenue North, Virginia, Minnesota. Her brother-in-law, Benedict Patka, was a plumber for Heisel Brothers. In 1943-4 she was a widow who boarded with her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Johanna Matkovich at 314 3rd St. South, Virginia. She subsequently married William E. Heisel, owner of Heisel Brothers Plumbing. She was Bill Heisel’s second wife and had no children.
