He had a shoe store in Boston where his nephew, Dwight Lyman Moody, worked from as a salesman from age 17 to 19 after leaving his home in Northfield. Dwight was hired under these conditions: 1. He must board at a place selected by the uncle. 2. He must stay off the streets at night. 3. He must not try to run the business. 4. And he must go regularly to the Mount Vernon Church and Sunday School. On September 18, 1856 Dwight left Boston and moved to Chicago.418
