“He settled on the homestead of his father, whose place of residence has been described. He and his wife became members of the church in Amherst, Jul 29, 1781. I find among old papers, he has left, that he was collector of taxes for the town of Amherst in 1789, 1791 and that he seems to have shared frequently in offices of a similar kind pertaining to the place...The following record of the births of his children was copied from a paper in his own hand writing.”

®778 In July, 1777, Captain Reuben Dickinson marched with his company to Mosses’ Creek to reinforce the army and was attached to Col. Elisha Porter’s regiment. The company served 38 days and included Joel Moody and Medad Moody of Amherst.
