His father moved the family from Hadley to Granby between 1731 and 1740. He died unmarried at age 90.
®656 He was listed as the head of the family (a few members were unmarried) in Granby in 1750-1763.
®1632 He was Captain of a company of militia from Pelham in 1755 during the 6th French and Indian War.
®1298He “commanded a company of soldiers sworn to in 1777 in Hampshire County, Mass. in the Rev. War. Gave land for a meetinghouse of the 2nd Parish Church in Granby, Mass. ab. 1762”
®8 “The oldest of these sons lived in Granby, Mass when he owned real estate, in land, etc., he held various offices in town from time to time and was much respected. At the close of his long life, he gave his property by Will to his Nephew Elisha Moody, Jr. His grave-stone is in the burying ground (central) of Granby, bearing the date of his decease as above written.”
