From 25 Sep 1814 to 7 Nov. 1814 he was a private in Captain Reynold’s Company, Lieutenant Colonel W. Ryerson’s Regiment serving at Portland in the War of 1812. In 1820 his family of 2 boys 10-16, 1 man 16-26, one man over 45, and one woman 16-26 lived in Granby, Massachusetts, near the families of Elisha Moody, Silas Moody, Zebina Moody, and Benoni K.
