“Mr. Moody, settled in Ashfield, Mass, but after residence there for some years, returned to South Hadley, Mass. His house was the third in ‘Moody Corner’ south of the bridge and on the west side of the road. He engaged chiefly in agricultural pursuits. He and his wife were members of the Church in South Hadley as early as 1783, time of admission is unknown. They were dismissed to the Church in Belchertown, Mass, in Jan 7, 1820 having removed thither to live with their son . His death was sudden. Returning from the field, an old man, but in apparently good health, he fell and expired.” 607 He was a Private on the 1777 Hadley list in the Massachusetts Army during the Revolutionary War, serving under Lt. Waite and Col.
