In 1860 he was 10 and lived with his parents and siblings in Petersburg, Virginia.302 He was the youngest of ten children. He was an instructor at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. In 1902 he was consecrated the 4th Episcopal Bishop of Alabama.95 96
