Caroline Elizabeth Godec was born on 12 April 1906, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Joseph and Mary GoDec. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Willard, where she was raised and educated. After her education, she worked on the family farm until she married Frank Klanchar on 16 April 1928. They moved to Milwaukee for a few years, then moved back to Willard during the Depression. They bought the depot in Willard and operated it as a filling station until 1940. They then moved to Greenwood, where her husband worked for a lumber company. After her husband's death on 19 June 1966, she moved to Milwaukee to be near her son. She moved back to Greenwood in 1985, and resided there until the time of her death.
