He graduated from Ashland, Wisconsin High School in 1925. ®188Roy and Paul Halbe made the first radio in Ashland in January 1928. ®3791 He worked at the paper mill until 9 July 1928. ®162 He then worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone for 45 years. He started in the Ashland, Wisconsin office on 11 July 1928, ®162and transferred to the Madison, Wisconsin office on 8 October 1931. On 27 September 1933 he transferred back to Ashland, then Superior, then Ashland, Baraboo (26 April 1942-1953), Fort Atkinson (1953-1961), Whitewater, Jefferson and Oconomowoc (1961-1971), all in Wisconsin. On 23 January 1971 they lived at 246 Fowler Street in Oconomowoc. He retired from the telephone company on 23 February 1971. He became a 32nd degree Mason, sang in the Lutheran church choir, repaired boats and television sets. He made wood furniture, loved to sail, deer hunt and to go fishing. ®3788 He lived at Route 6, Box 523, Lac Belle Drive, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin in 1961 and lived at 246 North Fowler Street, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin at the time of his death in 1980.
