She was a spinster who always lived with Capt. Oswell Eve and her sister Mrs. Ann M. Eve, until the Revolutionary War in 1776 when Oswell and his wife moved to Cat Island in the Bahamas. Mary then lived with her nephew, Capt. John Eve, in Oxford Township of which Frankford is a part, until her death about 1789. Her will was notarized on 28 Feb 1789. The inventory contained only clothing and household goods. ®1912

At a Court of Claims held at Philadelphia for the State of Pennsylvania the 22nd day of April Anno Domini 1779. Present The Honorable Thomas Mc Kean &} [Chief?] Justices William Augustus Atlee.
Upon the Claim of Mary Moore exhibited to this Court against Oswell Eve's Estate stating that certain Goods and Chattles to wit one Chest of Drawers, one feather Bed and Bedsteads
one Chamber Table and six Chairs which had been seized as the Property of Oswell Eve presently belonged to the said Claimant and also that the said Oswell Eve was justly indebted to the said Mary Moore in the Sum of five hundred & seven pounds three Shillings

Auditors to examine into the Justice of the said Claim And make Report to the Court

We the above named Auditors having Examined the Account; & heard the witnesses of Mary Moore, do find that the estate of Oswell Eve is indebted to the Said Mary Moore the Summ of five hundred & fourteen pounds three Shillings & four pence.

Be it remembered that on the eleventh Day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and seventy eight Before the Honorable Thomas Mc Kean Esquire Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Pennsylvania commeth Mary Moore of
Philadelphia and claimeth One Chest of Drawers One feather Bead and Beadstad One Chamber Table and six Chairs of the proper goods and chattels of her the [said] Mary Moore and which said Goods and Chattles have lately been seized inventoried appraised and registered for the use of the State
by the Agents and Factors appointed by the honorable the Vice President And Supreme Executive Council of the State as for the seizing and selling of the Estate real and personal of persons attained or to be attained of High Treason within the County of Philadelphia in Virtue of an Act of Assembly of this State in such can provided as the Goods and Chattles of Oswald Eve when in Fact the same good and Chattles or any of them did not belong to the [Sd] Oswald Eve upon the fourth Day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy six or at any Time since but nore are and on the Day and year last [of/over?], were the proper Goods And Chattles of this Claimant Mary Moore in her own Right and the [sd] Mary Moore doth further aver and say that the [sd] Oswald Eve on the fourth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and seventy six at Philadelphia County was and still is indebted unto her the said Mary Moore in the Sum of five hundred and seven Pounds three Shillings lawful Money of Pennsylvania or for so much money by the [sd] Mary to the [sd] Oswell at his special Instance and agreed lent and accomodated as part of which to sum of money noth in anywise been paid or satisfied but the same now is justly due and owing to this Claimant from the [sd] Oswald Eve for the cause [ofered?] And this she doth and will aver and maintain Wherefore she prays that this her Claim may be admitted and received and thereupon she will exhibit her Proofs and Evidence in support of the Allegations herein Contained

Mary Moore v. Oswell Eve Decree
Upon the Allegations made and proofs exhibited the Justices of the Supreme Court do decree to Mary Moore the Claimant the Sum of five hundred and fourteen pounds three Shillings and four pence out of the estate of Oswell Eve forfeited by his Attainder of Treason with five pounds nine Shillings and six pence costs At Philadelphia 21st Septr. 1779.
