He lived at 137 Lawrence Avenue, Ironwood, Michigan at the time of his death. He died in a one automobile rollover accident on Highway 13 eleven miles west of Bayfield while driving from his home in Ironwood, Michigan to a vacation summer home in Port Wing on Lake Superior. He was to have been joined over the weekend by his parents. The accident happened about 11:30 PM on Saturday, apparently as a result of a tire blowout which threw the car into the ditch, pinning him beneath the car. He was badly crushed and identified by a key ring found on his body. Funeral services were held at 8:30 Wednesday morning from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest LaPointe and from Holy Family Catholic Church at 9 AM with Father John officiating.
