He was the oldest boy. He had the equivalent of an American high school education in Sweden and at age 16 emigrated with his mother to the United States in April 1892. They lived in Ashland from their marriage in 1902 until 1907 when they moved to an 80 acre farm in Sanborn, Wisconsin, adjacent to his father’s farm. On 1 January 1920 Henry was a 42 year old farmer on Swede Pine Road in White River Township, Ashland County, Wisconsin. Henry H. Hagstrom, Warner B. Hagstrom, August Hagstrom, John Hagstrom and Frank Shefchik lived on farms in that sequence on Swede Pine Road. Henry H. was a 42 year old farmer, born in Sweden, who emigrated in 1893 and became a naturalized citizen in 1906. His family consisted of Hulda M., Clarence H., Clifford V., Hugo H., Florence M., Ethel J., Kenneth S., Evylor, and Hazel.
