Nelle (Richardson) Hagstrom, age 92, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Court Manor in Ashland. She was born September 26, 1921 in Sanborn, the daughter of Cato P. and Norma (Oliphant) Richardson. Nelle worked as a nurses aide at the Ashland County Nursing Service and traveled around to area schools giving children immunization shots and hearings tests. She married Leonard C. Hagstrom on October 8, 1942 in Grand View. Nelle was her families historian and kept a family history and ancestry back to their roots in Iowa. She is a member of the Sanborn Methodist Church, a member of the ladies aide and was the church historian. She was also a member of the Chequamegon Red Hat Chiques and a charter member of the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Jule (Walter) Raith - Neenah, daughter-in-law, Fran Hagstrom - Arkansas, 5 grandchildren, David Norman Strom, Michael (Cindy) Strom, Lisa Strom, Dannon Raith and Kathleene Krueger, 4 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Megan, Sierra and Curtis Strom, 2 brothers, Marvin (Jeanette) Richardson - Seattle, WA and Dwight (Audrey) Richardson - Sanborn, a sister, Eleanor Reid - Mason, a sister-in-law, Jean Richardson - Sanborn and many nieces, nephews and Hagstrom in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on November 26, 2004, 2 sons, Curtis and Garis Hagstrom and 3 brothers, Irvin, Dean and Herbert Richardson.
A graveside service and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland. The Frost Home For Funerals is handling the arrangements.
