Notes for Gabriel (Spouse 1)
He left Saint-François on L'Île-d'Orléans and moved to the area of the towns of Carleton and Maria on the Gaspe peninsula side of Chaleur Bay, where he met and married Marie-Cécile Desnoyers in 1790. While here, Gabriel and at least two of his children, Charles and Marguerite chose to use LaPointe rather than Audet. By 1815 Gabriel and his son Charles were petitioning for land in Nash Creek, New Brunswick, across Chaleur Bay from Carleton.
