On 7 August 1850 William F. Wright, a clerk age 23 and born in Georgia lived in Milledgeville with his wife Sarah, age 23 and born in Georgia, and their children Joseph, 3 and William, 1 and William’s brother Thomas D., a 19 year old clerk. ®4934
He first appears in the 1850 Census of the City of Milledgeville (p.188(95) l. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) ®4934where there are three heads of households with their families; Amie G. Wright, William F. Wright, and Charles H. Wright. Individuals are Thomas D. Wright, Emily Wright, Sarah Wright, and Lydia Wright. In Baldwin County outside Milledgeville, Bettina Wright (insane) and William A. Wright (idiotic) are in the State Asylum. Clinton Wright is a student at a boarding house. William F. Wright is the only Wright listed as having slaves (3). John S. Wright is no longer on the census in 1850. Thomas D. Wright, a 19 year old clerk born in Georgia is living with the William F. family on the 1850 census. ®4934
Research
There is a 23 year old William F. Wright on the 1850 census and the 1850 Slave Census where he has three black female slaves aged 50, 21, and 12. ®4933

William H. T. Wright married Sarah S. Bass on 11 January 1844. There is no W. H. T. Wright on the 1850 Baldwin County census. However he is W. H. T. Wright on his son William’s grave stone in Milledgeville in 1859. ®4935 Had W. H. T. Wright removed from Baldwin County in 1850? Probably not because William died in Milledgeville in 1859. Why the different initials? Check the 1860 Baldwin County Census

William A. Wright is insane.
