In 1870 he is a single clerk who lives with the George Stahl family. ®5713 Either he or his nephew John G. Stahl was donated Block 7, Lot 1 of Calvary Cemetery in Bayfield, Wisconsin by Colonel Wing.

John Stahl owns Block 7, Lot 1, which was donated to him by Col. Wing. ®3276 and has the grave sites of Father George Stahl (1836-1917), Mother Apolonia Stahl (1840-1928), John G. Stahl (who died on 11 Dec 1887 at 25 years, 8 months and 1 day of age), and Vernon C. Stahl (who died on 17 November 1887 at 17 days of age). There is also a marker with the initials J.C.S., and a marker with the initials V.G.S. Lot 2 belonging to George Stahl has unmarked grave sites. ®189 GPS coordinates of these gravesites are Map datum NAD 27 UTM Zone Conus 15 T 0665438 Easting 5186729 Northing.
