He settled in New Hartford. His share of the property in Hartland, it seems, did not present a sufficient inducement to undertake a settlement, where then was not yet any permanent inhabitants. He made his Will, Dec 25, 1746, being at that time ‘sick and weak of body.’ He bequeathed to his wife Sarah, personal property and lands. ‘to his son, Ebenezer 50 acres of land, lying on Town Hill’ - to Susannah’, ‘housing stuff and land’, this last, however made conditional.
