The will of his father, Zachariah Lamar, dated 23 Jan 1832 left he and his heirs $16,000, 1222 acres in Bibb County, west of the Ocmulgee River, the 1550 acre Cedar Shoal plantation in Baldwin County and additional lots and thousands of acres in Houston and Early Counties in Georgia, and in Alabama. If Andrew died without heirs the inheritance was to be devided between his siblings Mary Ann and John B. Lucius Q. C. Lamar and Jesse Robertson were to be Trustees until he was 21 years of age.
