He moved to Minnesota in 1911, becoming associated with the Minnesota & Ontario Paper Company in International Falls.462 In 1918 he was the Insurance Manager for the company.464
On 1 January 1920 they lived in a home they owned at 603 6th Street, International Falls, Minnesota with his wife Olive. They had no children. He worked as a clerk in a paper mill and she was unemployed. He stated both his father and mother were born in the U.S.618
In 1922 they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he became a member of the staff of the Underwriters’ Adjustment Company. His territory included Long Prairie. 462

He was a member of the Duluth Chamber of Commerce and The Honorable Order of the Blue Goose, International, a fraternal organization of men and women who work in the property and casualty insurance industry .462
