“Mary Polly Neal’s parents were Elizabeth Moon who died 21 April 1867, in Coweta County, Georgia, and Richard Neal. They married 16 May 1802 in Columbia County, Georgia. Richard died about 1804 in Columbia County, Georgia . Elizabeth married a second time to John Bird/Byrd, Jr. about 1813 in Georgia, John died in 1818/1821 probably in Columbia County, Georgia. They had two children John Irey Byrd, born about 1814, who died before 1860 and Eliza J. Byrd, born 7 Nov 1817 and died 29 May 1894.” 485
