He is the only surviving child of the Rev. Henry Wise and ?? Haxall, his wife. The Rev. Henry A. Wise was the son of General Henry A. Wise, Ex- Governor of Virginia, a man known to all through out the United States for his great ability as a Jurist Orator and Statesman. Apart from his record as a General in the Confederate States Army, further comment is unnecessary. History speaks for him.
