I am working on the line, as I believe my children are descended from Shadrick Wright. He was living in Russell county, Alabama in 1850 and 2 Wright kids were married there in 1849, including our ancestor Winney Wright born SC 1821-1831.

At the moment I found the 1820 Lancaster data and was sorting thru it.Looks to me that the Wrights may have been Quakers in 1820, as the influence of the Quakers is evident thru the alphabetically listed names and thru the fact the Wrights stand out as having no slaves.

It seems there are also some blacks in Alabama who named their children this unusual name. I was going to try to include them in my data bank. Do you have any DNA evidence for black decsendants?
