17 Foot545Sunday last died, after a long affliction which she bore with exem: many fortitude, Mrs. Stephens of this town, relict of Capt. Stephens of the 7th Regiment of foot, daughter of the late Samuel Moody, Esq. Of Bury.
Ipswich Journal May 11, 1799.
“Capt. Richard Stephens, 17 foot, who married Anna Roberta Moody, daughter of Samuel Moody of Bury, had issue.
1. Richard, Ensign 39 foot, born 17 May 1764. Killed at the siege of Gibraltar 1781.
2. Samuel. Born 26th Aug. 1765. Ensign Elliot’s Corps, now living at Enniskillen, Ireland, & had issue.
3. Elisabeth Rosa, born 4 Jan. 1768, single living at Aldboro!
4. Robert Baker, born 28th April 1770, died 1839 leaving issue.
5. Sarah, born 17 April 1772 married 1795 to John 2nd son of Sir James Trowhouse .
6. Harriet, married to John Hill of Harlestow, Yeoman.” 545
