“In 1824 when at Bury St. Edmunds, The Rev. Mr. Dewhouse Mr: mister of the Independent Congregation there, showed me an old & curious Register belonging to the Chapel, from which I extracted
1692. May 29. Hannah Moody, widow, living near Bury, being recommended by the Church of Christ at London , to the communion of this Church was received for that end.
The copy of their letter, ___
These are to certify on behalf of our beloved sister Mrs. Hannah Moody, widow, that she walked many years with us as a member of our congregation & carried herself not only unblameably, but to the honor of the Gospel & ye Profession, & ye fore we recommended her to ye Church of Christ at Bury will of Mr. Milway is Pastor ye they will receive her in the Lord, as becometh Saints.
