Notes for Ruth FRECHETTE
“Ruth Hagstrom, age 95, of Ashland and St. Louis Park, MN, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Before her passing, while her family gathered around her, Ruth told her family to "Help each other with a sense of humor" and when she was asked if she was cold, she replied with "No, All of you warm me."
Ruth was born on June 7, 1920 in Iron Belt, WI to John and Rosa Tekari. Following the death of her parents in 1926 she was adopted by Henry and Anna Frechette of Washburn. She married Eugene Hagstrom of Ashland in 1941.
Ruth worked as a clerk and bookkeeper at a local meat market and took classes to become a certified nursing assistant. She attended St. Agnes Catholic Church where she and Gene sang in the choir for 50 years. She volunteered there as a money tabulator and as an Eucharistic minister, both at the church and the nursing centers. She was member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a Red Cross and Salvation Army volunteer.
She is survived by her children, Lynda Quistorff, Sharon Pero, David , Donald and Lori Raabe; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two childhood friends, Evelyn Embertson Bayless and Bernice Bartness Klemmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; daughter, Barbara; and son-in-law, James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, November 9, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland. Interment will follow the service in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Ashland. A Reception will be held in the church Fellowship Hall.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 8th at Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.”
