Edna Sundberg Hagstrom
Edna Sundberg Hagstrom was born in Radisson, WI, on March 24, 1918, the daughter of John and Martha Sundberg. She entered her eternal home on April 5, 2015 at the age of 97.
Edna was a life-long member of Bethany Baptist Church in Mason where she married Arvid Hagstrom in 1941. They lived on the Swan Hagstrom Homestead in the Town of Eileen where they raised their four daughters, farmed and gardened until Arvid’s death. Throughout her lifetime, Edna was active in her church; teaching Sunday School, Bible School, and serving in the kitchen. She enjoyed being involved in Highland Homemakers, her neighborhood stitching group, church Bible studies, and traveling to visit family and friends. She loved being a caregiver to her family members, especially granddaughter Heather. She is known for her cinnamon bread baking and apple pie making—which she has passed down to her daughters and granddaughters! She will be remembered for her contentment with life and the smile always on her face. As she took her final steps on earth and entered the gates of Heaven on Easter Sunday, we know she had a smile on her face as she was met by her Lord and Savior and her many loved ones who have gone before her. She enjoyed spending time with her 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her many friends. She is survived by daughters Karen Gabler of Hickory, NC, Judy Wicklund of White Bear Lake, MN, and Lindy Larson of Ashland; her loving eight grandchildren, Britta Levenhagen, Heather Larson, Amy Lagoutine, Jeremy Larson, Scott Wicklund, Ryan Larson, Michael Larson, and Matthew Wolhowe; 15 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Erik Wolhowe of Roseville, MN; a sister-in-law, Jean Sundberg of Roseville, CA; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Arvid in 1997; a daughter Joyce in 2004; and her eight siblings.Funeral services will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Mason on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior to the service and a lunch afterward. Pastor John Dudley will be officiating. A time of visitation will also be held from 6-8pm on Friday evening at Frost Home for Funerals, in Ashland.
