Notes for Alson S. MOODY
He enlisted in the Civil War 418 in Company F, Vermont 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment on 25 November 1862 and mustered out on 26 March 1863. On 1 June 1870 Alson no longer lived with his parents in Wolcott, Vermont. 894Alson played a clarinet in the Stowe Vermont Military Band which had been organized in 1800. On 1 June 1900 Alson S. Moody, a 55 year old farmer born in Vermont lived in Stowe, Vermont. Both his parents were born in Vermont. Living with him were his wife Emiline, 55, son Spencer, 24, and son George, 14. The farm next door was owned by a widowed 80 year old Prissil Moody, also born in Vermont in November 1819.891
