Notes for Abner SMITH
Abner Smith, son of John & Elizabeth Hovy, born in Hatfield, 1712 ; came to Cold Spring [Belchertown] in 1733, married Polly Lyman, daughter of Aaron Lyman and Eunice Dwight, removed from this place to Springfield, where he kept a public house and the county jail for several years. He died with the small pox, about the year 1777, age 65.772
