On 1 June 1870 Almond no longer lives with his parents in Wolcott, Vermont.894 He lived in Grand Isle, Vermont.961 He served in the Civil War enlisting on 16 March 1865 as a Private in Company C, 3rd Infantry Regiment. He was mustered out on 15 July 1865.761
