Lorraine L. Lind, age 82, of Iron River, was reunited with her husband and three sons on Monday, September 13, 2010. She was born July 13, 1928 in Iron River, the daughter of Dewey & Olga Armbruster.
Lorraine graduated from Columbia High School in Iron River. She married Arvid Lind on November 8, 1946 in Ashland. Together they raised 3 boys. Lorraine worked on the family farm with the rest of her family and everyone was always welcome in her home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always enjoyed her pets as well. She loved fishing and also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and working jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Lorraine was involved with the Iron River speedway and was a big NASCAR fan.
She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Brad W. Lind, Rodney Lind and Yvonne Lind all or Iron River, Joshua Lind – USMC, David "D.J." Lind – Ashland & Casey Lind – Ashland, 7 great-grandchildren, Bradley, Ryan, Brian, Kale, Cassy, Kierynn, & Denny Dean, 2 daughters-in-law, Sandra Lind – Iron River and Anita Lind of Ashland, a sister, Florence Lehto – Iron River and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on June 11, 2009, 3 sons, Richard, Dennis and David Lind, a daughter-law, Karen Lind, 4 brothers, Donald "Jackie" Dewey Jr. "Sonny", Dale, an infant brother Richard and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Iron River with Pastor Richard Blood officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. – 12 noon, Friday at the church. Graveside services and burial will take place in the Iron River City Cemetery. 761
