On 1 June 1900 Nels Nelson, born November 1863 in Sweden lived with his wife of 13 years, Matilda, 37, on a farm he owned with a mortgage in Silver Creek, Minnesota. He had emigrated in 1884 and was a naturalized citizen. Matilda had emigrated in 1885 and they married in 1887. Their children were Selma O.,12, Fritz I., 10, Sellie A., 7, Atla R., 7, and Bertha N., 5. August Johnson, 43, Sweden, a brother in law, lived with them. On the adjacent farm lived Albert, 42 and Christine Nelson, 39, both emigrated from Sweden and married for 10 years. They lived with Albert H., 9, Chester F., 4 and Lawrence W., 1. Two children had died.1764 On 1 June 1905 Nels Nelson was a 43 year old farmer from Sweden who had lived in Minnesota for 20 years and 4 months and in Silver Creek, Minnesota for 10 years and 6 months. He lived with his wife Tilda, 42, and children Selma O., 17, Fritz A., 15, Athle R., 12, Lillie W., 12, and Bertha H., 10. August Johanson no longer lived with them.1766 On 15 April 1910 Nels Nelson, 46, lived at 2507 Seventh Street In Minneapolis Sixth Ward ina home he owned with a mortgage. He worked as a blacksmith in a railroad shop and lived with Matilda, 46, Fritz, 20, Athey, 17, Lillian, 17, and Bertha, 15. Selma had left home.1767

She was not a naturalized citizen, had borne 5 children, all still alive, and lived in Silver Creek, Minnesota with her husband and children.1764 On 15 April 1910 the family had moved to Minneapolis and Selma had left home.1767
