Both of Mary’s parents were born in England. 1854 1933On 1 July 1900 Mary was 45, had been married to Jacob for 27 years and had borne 6 children, one of which, Eve, 18, was still alive and lived with her parents.1898 On 1 July 1910 Mary, 54, lived with her husband Jacob and sole surviving child, Eva, 28, at 3015 Wade Avenue SW, Cleveland, Ohio. Also living with them were Eva’s husband, William Williams, 34, and their daughter, Gwendolyn E. Williams, 4.1899 On 1 January 1920 Mary Gehring, a 64 year old widow lived in a house she owned without a mortgage at 4320 Memphis Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Jacob had died between 1910 and 1920. She lived with her daughter, Eva Williams, 38, son in law William Williams, 43 and granddaughter Gwendolyn Williams, 13. 1977On 1 April 1930 Mary Gehring, a 75 year old widow lived in a home she owned worth $8000 at 4320 Memphis Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Her daughter Eva Williams, 35, lived with her. Eva’s husband William and daughter Gwendolyn did not live with them. Mary’s mother and father were both born in Germany.1932 Mary Gehring died a widow on 10 May 1938 at which time she lived at 4268 West 33rd Street, Cleveland, Ohio. 1982

Jacob Goehring emigrated to the United States, arriving from Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany in July 1862. He became a naturalized citizen on 2 November 1868 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. 1895 On 1 June 1880 he was 35, worked in an iron mill, and lived in Newburgh, Cuyahoga County, Ohio with wife Mary, 24, and daughters Mary, 8 and Sophia, 6 months.1933 On 1 June 1900 Jacob Gehring, a 54 year old harness maker, lived with his wife of 27 years, Mary Gehring, 45, and daughter Eva, 18, in a house he owned with no mortgage at 3015 Wade Avenue, SW, Ward 39, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. By then they had borne 6 children, one of which, Eve, 18, was still alive and lived with her parents. Daughters Mary and Sophia and son John had died. 1898 On 1 July 1910 Jacob, 64, lived at 3015 Wade Avenue SW, Cleveland, with his wife of 36 years, Mary, 54, their daughter Eva Williams, 28, her husband William Williams, 34 and their daughter Gwendolyn E. Williams, 4.1899 Jacob died at age 71 on 14 March 1917 at which time his address was 3015 Wade Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.1983
