Lawrence C. "Larry" Young
(January 20, 1938 - June 30, 2014)

Lawrence C. "Larry" Young, age 76 of Washburn, WI, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born January 20, 1938 in Bayfield, WI, the son of Gilmore and Rose (Cadotte) Young.
Larry attended Bayfield High School, graduating in 1956. He also attended the Indianhead Technical College in Ashland. On May 14, 1960 he married Lorraine Guski at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Bayfield, WI. Larry was the Highway Commissioner for Bayfield County for 26 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Washburn. Larry was a charter member of the former Washburn Men's Club. He enjoyed playing suduko, watching the cooking channel, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Washburn; 3 children, Lorinda (John) Duffy of Red Cliff, WI, Lynnelle Young of Lac du Flambeau, and Landon (Jesse Mattison) Young of Superior; 9 grandchildren, Clarissa Olson, Anthony Young, Dakota Duffy, Savannah Duffy, Colt Duffy, Jesse Duffy, Juliet Duffy, Devon Young, and Taylor Amundson; 7 great-grandchildren, Preston Olson, Hailen Duffy, Bradum Duffy, Owen Duffy, Connor Duffy, Loyalty Duffy and Ariana Duffy; sister, Yvonne (Vincent) Kelly of Bayfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Addyson Olson-LaFernier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Washburn with Fr. Kevin Gordon officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th from 5 – 7 pm at the Bratley Funeral Home in Washburn with a 6:45 Prayer Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. ®11046
