Thomas J. Harrington, 68, of Virginia passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home in Eveleth. He was born on June 5, 1945 in Virginia to John and Ann Harrington and grew up in Virginia where he graduated from high school. Tom worked for the DM&IR Railroad, U.S. Steel and retired as an over the road truck driver, and lived in Minneapolis and California prior to returning to Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom is survived by his wife Helen of Grand Rapids; two sons, Chris Harrington of Marcell, Minn., and John Harrington of Panama City, Fla.; four step-children, Ken Slagle of Virginia, Dianna Oinonen of Britt, and Alfred Slagle and Brenda Slagle, both of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, Krystal, Cody, Colton, Taylor, Lauren, Emily, Abigail, Tanya, Casey, Aaron and Breanna; six great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Charlie, Jacen, Allison, Alex and Braiden; one sister, Carol Brunfelt of Forest Lake, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Virginia Elks Lodge. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home of Virginia.2490
