He had a public school education in Iowa, and the University of Iowa, and at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1900 he was 16, at school, and lived with his father, mother, and siblings, May, single and age 26, and W. Ray, single and age 21. There were no younger children in 1900.
®262In 1908 he graduated from the Kansas City, Missouri, Dental College. He practiced in Iowa in 1908. He moved to Lyndon, Iowa? In 1913 he moved to Emporia, Kansas, where he met his wife. In 1920 they lived at 513 Rural Street in Emporia, Kansas. They lived at 1015 West Street, Emporia, Kansas in 1928. He was a oral surgeon for the Santa Fe Railway. He died in 1929 of a heart attack in his dental office at age 45. He was known as "the little fat doctor”. He was not a Christian Scientist like his wife, and was buried from the First Presbyterian Church, Emporia, Kansas in the cemetery in Gardner, Kansas where his wife’s parents were buried.
