He renounced the administration of his father's estate in 1835. ®1 On 1 June 1840 he is single, 20-30 years old and lives with a woman age 50-60. (his widowed mother, Phila?). ®435 On 2 August 1840 e married Sophia Alexander. ®484 On 1 June 1850 he is a 38 year old mechanic living with his wife Sophia, 30, and Phila A., 6, at the home of his sister Phila (Mrs. William Brooks) in Columbus, Georgia. He owned one female slave. ®466 On 1 June 1860 he is 44, a jeweler and watchmaker in Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. His real estate is valued at $2000 and personal property at $2500. His wife, Sophia, daughter Phila, age 18 and mother, Phila, age 79 live with him. ®436 In 1865 Noah Moody 53, lived in Greenfield, Franklin County with Sophie A. Moody, 48, Wells B. Long, 25 and Phila A. Long, 22. ®485In 1870 he is 56 and lives in Ward 4, Worcester, Massachusetts, and he works in a boot and shoe store with his son-in-law Webster Long. His personal property is worth $2000. His wife Sophia, age 52, keeps house and their daughter Phila Long, 29, her husband Webster Long, 32, and their children Minnie, 4, and William, 2, all born in Massachusetts, live with Noah and Sophia. ®467 I can not find them on the 1880 census. In 1888, 1889 and 1890 Noah Moody is still listed as a bootmaker with his store at 14 Front and 16 Front and residence at the rear of 25 William in Worcester, Massachusetts in the Worcester city directories. ®468 Noah Moody, born in Northfield, Massachusetts, the son of Isaiah Moody of Hadley and Phila Alexander of Northfield died 14 January 1894 at age 80 years, 5 months and 25 days in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was married, retired, died of cancer of the face and exhaustion; his burial was in Worcestor. ®413 He and all four brothers are on one headstone in the Center Cemetery in Northfield, but whether he is buried there is unknown, but there is no burial noted for Noah, only Sophia, in Worcester. ®73

On 1 June 1850 Sophia, Noah and their daughter Phila are living with Noah’s sister Ophelia’s family (William Brooks) in Columbus, Georgia. ®466 On 1 June 1870 Noah, 56, Sophia A., 52, Webster Long, 32 and Phila A. Long, 29 and their children Minnie, 9 and William 2 live in Worcester, Massachusetts. Sophia, age 52, keeps house. ®467 I can not find them on the 1880 census. On 19 September 1895, Sophia Alexander Moody, a widow, dies at age 77 years, 10 months and 3 days in Worcester, Massachusetts. She died of old age and diarrhea. She was the daughter of Elisha Alexander and was born in Northfield, Massachusetts. Where she was buried is not noted. ®497
