Notes for Calvin HOLTON
After their father Luther Holton died in Northfield, Massachusetts on 24 September 1835, Calvin and Frederick, two of the thirteen children born to Luther and Betsey Holton, went to Michigan. Fred returned, married, and settled in Lowell, Mass., with a shoe and boot business in Boston. Calvin stayed in Michigan, later moving to Illinois. After Dwight L. Moody moved to Chicago, he often visited his Uncle Calvin and Aunt Susan, and attended their church. At the time, they lived in Maine Township. Calvin lived in Woodstock, Illinois with his wife, Susan Burlingame.569
