He was left by his father leases of lands in Cavenham, county Suffolk; his later history is untraced,80,78 but he was dealing in lands in Moulton in 158794 90 "To the said George my son my other lands and tenements whatsoever in the town and fields of Moulton and Kenteford, to him and the heirs of his body; remainder to John Modye my third son and the heirs of his body; remainder to Edmond Modye my son and his heirs forever. To the said Edmond my son all my lands both free and copy in Gaseleye, which I late purchased of Christopher Birde and Beatrice Birde, to him and the heirs of his body; remainder to John Modye my son and his heirs forever.” From the will of his father dated 2 Feb 1572/3.82 "To John my son all my sheep going at Kennette with John Cheverrye."82 "I will that Mr. Taylor shall take the issues from John's lands, and shall bring him up until he attain 21 years."82 John had 4 children.
