221 In 1907 he was a miner and boarded with his brothers Joseph Matkovich and Martin Matkovich at the home of John Tomachich, in Ely, Minnesota. In 1910 he boarded with his brother Martin Matkovich’s family in Virginia, Minnesota and was employed at Virginia Mine, where he worked as a miner in the Bessemer iron mine. In 1912 he was a trammer at the Norman iron mine and boarded with the Joseph Matkovich family and his brothers Frank Matkovich and Peter Matkovich at the Commodore location, Virginia, Minnesota. He returned to Tanca Gora, Slovenia, by 1913, at least 9 months before the birth of his third child, Anton II, who was born on 4 January 1914.
