He emigrated to Massachusetts. He moved to Connecticut and became a property owner in the Hartford area.
362 By 1657 he had been admitted a Freeman in Connecticut. They were followers of Reverend Thomas Hooker. In 1678 they moved to Westerly, Rhode Island, with their son John. About a year later they moved to Newport, Rhode Island.

362She was convicted of adultery in 1663 and of witchcraft in July 1665 in Hartford, Connecticut. She was imprisoned until the next spring when on Winthrop’s orders she was freed because of incompatibility between the verdict and the indictment.
