®4287 Howard became the administrator of his father-in-law Philippe’s estate following his death in 1908 and carried it to a successful conclusion in 1911.

Howard was a sawyer in a lumber mill, had emigrated to the United States in 1896 and became a naturalized citizen in 1907. His father was from England and his mother from English Canada.
