Misc. Notes
He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1803, or 1808. ®2424 He lived in Granby, Hampshire County, Massachusetts before 1811. The Granby Vital Records show their intentions were declared on 3 May 1811, but there was no marriage to follow in Granby, as they went to Clarissa’s home in West Brattleboro, Vermont for their marriage which was held on 15 May 1811. ®2416 All the children were born in Granby from Sarah in 1812 to Lorenzo in 1825, and the next child, Alexander was born in Bainbridge, New York in 1833, so they moved between 1825 and 1833. “Educated for the ministry. He came to West Brattleboro to teach in the Academy.... Became a merchant and farmer, resided in Granby, Mass., for several years before moving to Reading, then Bainbridge, NY.” ®2425He probably moved to New York about 1829 when numerous “executions” against him appear in Hampshire County land records. He was still of Granby when he sold an acre to Enos Smith, giving up his right to it on 25 September 1828. ®2426 Many of his properties, including the homelot where he was living, were to be auctioned off by the sheriff on 15 May 1829. ®2427 He died on 19 July 1854 in Bainbridge.
