On 15 April 1910 she lived with her husband and two daughters in Bayfield, Wisconsin. They had been married 5 years and had two children, both of which survived. Her father was born in Connecticut and mother in Ohio. 1047Her father was born in Ohio and mother in Connecticut.856 “Ms. Ethel F. Fisher was the widow of the former Bayfield county district attorney, John Fisher. Ms. Fisher died at last week at the Bayfield County Memorial hospital. The memorial service was at the Bayfield Presbyterian church Saturday with burial at Greenwood cemetery. Ms. Fisher was very active in civic affairs. She was a member of the Bayfield Presbyterian Church and she and her husband were officers in regional Presbyterian organizations. She was an honorary member of the Board of National Missions of the Presbyterian church of the U. S. She was a charter member of the Bayfield Civic Service league and of the Chequamegon chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution which she started in Bayfield. She was past matron of the Beulah chapter, 41, Order of Eastern Star. She also served as clerk of the Bayfield board of Education. Ms. Fisher also was active in many organizations while living in Superior. The former Ethel French was born July 25, 1878 on a homestead near Petosky, Mich., the daughter of Lorenzo and Eutoka French. She lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and New Haven, Connecticut and was graduated from a teachers college in New Haven. She taught school in Connecticut and in Berea, Kentucky. She and John Fisher, White Creek, were wed July 9, 1904 when he was graduated from the school of law at Yale University, New Haven. They lived in Appleton, and then came to Bayfield in 1909. Fisher opened a law office in Bayfield and served as district attorney. They moved to Superior in 1933 where he practiced law. John Fisher died in 1954. She lived in Superior until 1867 when she returned to Bayfield. Survivors are: daughters Ms. David Borth , Ms. Harold Benton and Ms. Elizabeth Fisher, all of Bayfield; son Merlin Fisher, St. Paul; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.1394

Between 1906 and 15 April 1910 John J. Fisher, a 39 year old unemployed man born in Kansas lived with his wife Ethel J., 31, and daughters Euloka J., 4, and Marjorie E., 2. His parents birthplace was unknown. They shared a duplex with the Nelson Alderson family on Fifth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. 1047 He purchased the family cemetery Lot 7, Block 21 in Greenwood Cemetery in Bayfield, Wisconsin on 17 March 1915 to bury their third child Sarah Reed Fisher, who died on 15 March 1915.384 On 1 January 1920 John J. Fisher was a 48 year old lawyer who lived in a home he owned, with a mortgage, on Front Street near Rice Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. His mother and father had both been born in New York. He lived with Ethel F., 41, Eutoka J., 13, Marjorie E., 12, J. Merlin, 3 years and 9 months and his mother-in-law, Eutoka Lewis, 66. 1168 “He was a Harvard attorney who came to Bayfield to start a law practice.  His office used to be on Rittenhouse Ave where the Yulery is today, I believe.  The building was, however, moved to 5th Street near the school.  It's the tiny, tiny house two doors up from Sandy Paavola.  Their home was directly across from the Chateau Boutin 1373on the corner of Rice and Front Streets. On 1 April 1930 John J. Fisher, a 59 year old attorney born in Kansas lived in a house he owned worth $5000 on 2nd Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Both his parents had been born in New York. He lived with Ethel, 51, Eutoka, 24, Marjorie 22, Merlin, 14, Elizabeth, 8, and his mother-in-law, Eutoka Lewis, 76. 856
