Joseph was from Beausejour in Acadia, Nova Scotia. Joseph Girouard’s family had been deported to Quebec City during the Great Deportation of the Acadians in 1755. Joseph was Marie-Anne’s first husband and lived in Les Eboulements. Henri stated that she had lost three children by drowning.  After Joseph died, she remarried Louis-Roch-Augustin Tremblay from Les Eboulements.1723
