Fern Iris Cushway Van Vorous passed away at Cottonwood Care Center at the age of 86. She had lived in Gardnerville since 1983, coming from Twin Lakes, WI and Long Lake, IL.
Fern had cared for foster children. She was a member of the Episcopal church.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Bright of Topaz Lake, CA, Judy Van Vorous and Dale Knowles, both of Gardnerville and Recia Bunce of Los Angeles, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Wallace passed away in 1975, and she was preceded in death by four sons and one daughter.
