He first appears on the 1830 census where he is called Joseph Eve, Senr., is 20-30 years old, his wife is 20-30 years old, they have 2 boys under five, and living with them in Dunhams District of Richmond County, Georgia are two white males 70-80 years old and one white female 50-60 years old. ®3708

He is 30-40 years old and lives in Augusta, Georgia with his wife 20-30 years old, one boy less than 5, a girl less than 5 and 2 girls 5-10 years of age and a white male 60-70 years old, in the census of 1840. ®3643 Dr Joseph Adams Eve is son of Joseph and Hannah and is credited with co-founding the Medical College of Georgia in 1832, along with Milton Anthony. ®3633 Joseph A. Eve was a physician, with his office and residence at 241 Broad Street, Augusta in 1841. J A. Eve, Professor of Obstetrics and Diseases of Women and Infants, was also one of seven faculty members of the Medical College of Georgia at the corner of Telfair and Washington in Augusta. ®1916 His first cousin, Paul F. Eve, M.D., was also on the Medical College Faculty in 1841. J. A. Eve was a physician with his home and office at the corner of Green and Washington, Augusta, Georgia in the 1859 City Directory. ®1916 He lived in Augusta for the 1840 through the 1880 US Censuses. On 1 June 1850 he was a 44 year old physician born in South Carolina with real estate valued at $10,000. He lived in Division 73 of Richmond County, Georgia, with his wife Sarah G., 39, born in Georgia and their 6 children, Mildred W., 16, Elizabeth S., 14, Sterling C., 10, Robert C., 7, Sarah P., 2 and Joseph E., 1, all born in Georgia. A 22 year old physician named William Broadhurst lived with them. ®3706 On 1 June 1860 his real estate was valued at $20,000, and his personal property at $56,100. He was a 55 year old physician who lived in Ward 3 of Augusta and lived with his wife Sarah G., 49, and children Sterling C., 21, Robert, 17, Sarah W., 13, Joseph C. 11, William F., 9, Mary B. Eve., 7, Mildred G. Walton, 26 and her children Sarah J. Martin, 5, and Louisa G. Walton, 3, all born in Georgia. ®3707 A 21 March 1863 letter from John S. Wright to his daughter Sarah Laura indicates that Uncle Joe lived near the Wright family, who at that time lived in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia. "He was a most loving cousin and to him I owe my life, for it is to his unwearied care and skill I am indebted for relief from great bodily affliction.” ®99 On 1 June 1870 Dr. Joseph A. Eve, a 65 year old physician born in South Carolina had real estate valued at $14,000 and a personal estate valued at $30,000. He lived in the Second Ward of Augusta, Georgia with his wife, Sarah G., 59, Celestia, 17, Mildred Walton, 35, Josephine Walton, 15, Louisa Walton, 13, Dr. Robert C. Eve, 27, Willie H. Eve, 23, Hannon Eve, 4, Joseph Eve, 3, Robert C. Eve, 2, Pulaski Campbell, 23, Sarah Campbell, 23 and Florence Campbell, age 2. ®3702
